Anyone here actually tested miniature current transformers for protection relays

Looking through options for compact CTs used in measurement and protection relay setups. Specs on paper look fine, but I am wondering how they hold up in real long term work. Has anyone here had hands on experience with smaller transformer modules in industrial monitoring tasks

From what I have seen so far, the tricky part with miniature transformers is not the initial accuracy but how they behave after a few years of continuous load. Drift, thermal stress and saturation under fault conditions are usually what separates a decent unit from a questionable one. I went through the technical data of one miniature current transformers manufacturer https://yuanxing.net/en/ that lists ISO certified production and focuses on protection relay and fault recording applications, and the documentation at least looks consistent with what you would expect from a serious engineering oriented supplier. Cannot confirm field performance personally, only what the specs and certifications suggest. Stability claims always need verification through your own bench tests before trusting them in a real protection chain. As always, treat any single source as a starting point and cross check with independent measurements before committing to a component in critical infrastructure
